Sharaf Al-Din Al-Tibi: His Life and Works

Abstract

Sharaf al-Din al-Tibi is one of the most important noted scholar of Islam in the branches Arabic and Rhetoric, Hadith and exegesis. Despite of the fact that he was one of the well-known scholar in Islamic literature, he is being recognized better day by day in contemporary works. In spite of some significant studies published about al-Tibi and his works, it is determined that this studies has some shortages and faults. In this research, we will take attention to these shortages and faults. Besides, by the aid of some arguments, we will fulfill the shortages and will correct the mistakes. Otherwise, we will try to find a satisfactory answer about some disagreements like author's name, works, and some manuscripts attributed him etc. At the same time, we will chronologize the works of al-Tibi with the assistance of some diagnosis. Thus, the academics, studying comprehensively about al-Tibi, can know simply al-Tibi's last opinion, if they find a contradiction behind two books of al-Tibi. Furthermore, we try to mention some new information like the manuscripts belongs to al-Tibi, the family of al-Tibi, his teachers and students etc.
