The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effects of various drinks on the solubility of different restorative materials. A total of 90 specimens were prepared from Ionofil, Dyract Extra and Esthet-X. The specimens were divided into three groups for each material according to immersion media: distilled water, cola and orange juice. Solubility measurements were carried out at 24 h and then weekly. Results were analysed with analysis of variance and Duncan's tests. For all the materials, the lowest solubility values were recorded for specimens immersed in distilled water, followed by cola and orange juice. Differences in solubility values among the groups were statistically significant (p<0.05), with Ionofil showing the most solubility and Esthet-X the least. The solubility of dental restorative materials increased when immersed in low pH soft drinks. In addition to the specific characteristics of individual restorative materials, the dietary habits of patients play a role in the solubility and thus durability of dental materials.en_US
