| dc.description.abstract | A new benzimidazole compound, methyl 1-n-butyl-2-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)- 1H-benzimidazole-5-carboxylate, C19H18Cl2N2O2, has been synthesized by the condensation of methyl 3-amino- 4-(n-butylamino) benzoate with an Na2S2O5 adduct of 3,4-dichlorobenzaldehyde. The molecule is twisted with a C-C-C-N torsion angle of. 39.7( 3) degrees between the phenyl and benzimidazole groups.
