Amasya Province, a transition region between the coast and the inner parts in the North Anatolia, is very important because there are a lot of local sweet cherry cultivars or genotypes in the district. We examined three promising local sweet cherry cultivars namely ‘A5’, ‘A6’ and ‘A8’. In this study, the genetic relationships among three promising local cultivars collected from Amasya and 12 standards (‘Bing’, ‘Kordia’, ‘Lambert, ‘Lapins’, ‘Merton Late’, ‘Octavia’, ‘Regina’, ‘Starks Gold’, ‘Stella’, ‘Sweetheart’, ‘Techlovan’, ‘0900 Ziraat’) sweet cherry cultivars were determined. Molecular analyses were conducted for determination of polymorphism levels by using 6 UBC-ISSR primers. 68 DNA bands were obtained in total and 62 of them were determined as polymorphic. The number of bands per primer ranged between 9 and 13, the average number of bands were determined as 11.3. The average number of polymorphic bands per primer was 10.3. As a result of the evaluation of ISSR-PCR bands, the data were analyzed in Popgene32 and MEGA5.0 package software and the dendrogram was obtained according to the UPGMA method. The dendrogram was separated into two major groups at the 20% difference level, one is big and other is small. It was determined that the promising genotypes were collected in the large group. The closest similarity in the large main group was determined between the A8 genotype and the ‘Starks Gold’ cultivar. © 2019 International Society for Horticultural Science. All rights reserved.en_US
