Genitourinary tract is the third most common site of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, after lymphatic tissue and pleura. There is a long time between primary pulmonary infection and clinical appearance of genitourinary tuberculosis. Symptoms are frequently related to the lower urinary tract. Treatment of the genitourinary tuberculosis is mainly medical but sometimes surgical excision of infected organ or surgical reconstruction of the complications may be necessary.en_US
