Erbil Büyük Mezarlık'taki (Kayseriyye) 19. yy. Osmanlı dönemi mezar taşları

Abstract

Mezar taşları sahip oldukları karakteristik özellikleri ile bir dönemin ve bölgenin dili, sanatı, tekniği ve demografik yapısı hakkında önemli bilgiler içeren belgelerdir. Bunlar adeta o bölgede yaşamış olan medeniyetlerin birer fotoğrafıdır. Bu çalışmamızda, Anadolu dışında Osmanlı dönemine ait Erbil Büyük Mezarlık'taki 19. yy'a ait olduğu tespit edilen 57 mezar taşı incelenmiş ve bunların kendi içinde ve diğer bölgelerdeki mezar taşları ve Anadolu'da Osmanlı dönemi mezar taşları ile malzeme, tipoloji, süsleme, yazı ve işleniş bakımından karşılaştırmaları yapılmıştır. Bu incelemeler sırasında oldukça önemli bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Bu bulguları kitabelerde, kitabelerin yazı şekli ve içeriğinde, şâhidelerde, kazıma tekniğiyle yapılmış nesnelerde görmek mümkündür. Sonuç olarak söz konusu mezar taşlarının malzeme, tipoloji, süsleme, yazı ve işleniş bakımından 19. yy.'da Anadolu'da yapılmış Osmanlı dönemi mezar taşlarından birtakım farklılıklar gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir.

Tombstones, with their characteristic features, provide important information about the language, art, technique and demographic structure of a period or region. These are almost a photograph of the civilizations that lived in that region. In this study, 57 tombstones that were determined to belong to the 19th century from the Ottoman period in Arbil (Erbil) Great Cemetery, were examined. During the examination, comparisons were made in terms of materials, typology, decoration, writing, and processing with the tombstones of the Anatolian Ottoman period. During these examinations, as stated in the research, very important findings were obtained. It is possible to see these findings in the inscriptions written in Arabic, in the style and content of the inscriptions, in the martyrs with stones, and also in the objects made with the engraving technique. As a result, it was determined that Arbil Great Cemetery tombstones differ from the Ottoman period tombstones made in Anatolia in the 19th century in terms of material, typology, decoration, writing and processing.
