In this study, the automation of an energy distribution system in a having 400 beds hospital is realised to manage electrical energy distribution. The automation system is based on a PLC-SCADA platform. Energy parameters of all circuit breakers in MV and LV network are observed on-line by a PC and those values which are read from energy analyzers and protection relays are saved on harddisk. Digital and analog signals are collected from the field by PLC input modules. These signals are shown on the monitor and some of them are used in automation scenarios. Faults and alarms of distribution network are appeared on the monitor on-line and immediate maintenance becomes possible. One of the most important duties of the automation system is commanding the circuit breakers and generator automatically with the preprogrammed scenarios. At the result of this, the energy breakdowns in the hospital are minimised or disturbances are prevented.en_US
