dc.description.abstract | Cat Scratch Disease (CSD) caused by Bartonella henselae, is a self limited zoonotic disease that is relatively common among children and adolescents. The most typical clinical presentation is cervical or axillary lymphadenopathy. We present a case of a 12-year-old boy with CSD who complained of inguinal lymphadenopathy. The abdominal ultrasonography revealed microabscesses in the spleen. The serum B. henselae indirect immunofluorescent antibody (IFA) IgG level was 1/2048. The patient was successfully treated with rifampicin and azithromycin. © 2012 by Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society. | en_US |
