In modern practice the majority of procedures are performed with local anesthesia alone. Sometimes local anesthesia may be insufficient. In such cases sedation or general anesthesia can be performed. Patients needing general anesthesia include non compatible children, those with allergy to local anesthetics, and adults with special needs. Although general anesthetic procedure has advantageous, it should be noted that there are some risks and must be performed only in hospitals by an anesthetist. In this review, The aim of this study was to explain general anesthesia for dental procedures.en_US
