Akut herpes simpleks ensefaliti seyrinde gelişen santral diabetes insipidus

Abstract

Santral sinir sistemi parenkiminin infeksiyonu sonucu oluşan hastalıklar ensefalitler olarak adlandırılır. Akut ensefalit sırasında Diabetes insipidus nadir görülen bir komplikasyondur. Mesleği işçi olan 46 yaşındaki erkek hasta ateş ve ani bilinç kaybı ile kliniğe yatırıldı. Fizik muayene ve laboratuvar bulguları ile Herpes simplex ensefaliti tanısı konularak asiklovir ile tedavi edilen hastada Diabetes insipidus gelişti. Herpes simplex ensefaliti oldukça nadir görülen, tanı ve tedavisinde güçlükler yaşanan, ciddi komplikasyonlara neden olan bir hastalıktır. Bu hastalarda poliüri ortaya çıktığı zaman Diabetes insipidus olabileceği akla getirilmelidir.

A forty-six year-old male worker was hospitalized with sudden loss of consciousness and fever. With physical examination and laboratory tests led to the diagnosis of Herpes simlex encephalitis. The patient was treated with acyclovir. During the follow-up period, he was complicated with Diabetes insipidus. Herpes simplex encephalitis is a clinical entity that is seen rarely, not easy to diagnose and may have severe complications. In this infection Diabetes insipidus should be considered as a complication upon poliuria.
