Nominal Grup Tekniği: “Öğrenciler Çevre ve Eğitim Dersini Neden Seçtiler?”

Abstract

Bu çalışma Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi ortak seçmeli dersleri arasında yer alan Çevre ve Eğitim dersini seçen öğrencilerin, bu dersi seçmedeki önceliklerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bunun için küçük bir gruptan bilgi elde etmede faydalı bir metot olan Nominal Grup Tekniği (NGT) kullanılmıştır. NGT, öğrenci veya personele kolaylıkla uygulanabilen, basit ama önemli bir eğitim araştırma metodudur. Çalışma NGT’nin birbirini takip eden farklı aşamaları göz önünde tutularak yapılmıştır. Bu çalışma sonucunda Çevre ve Eğitim dersini seçen öğrencilerin bu dersi seçme kararlarında etkili olan faktörler arasında, üniversitenin OSD sistemindeki teknik aksaklıkların, ilgi alanlarının, dersi veren hocanın özellikleri ve ders geçme kaygıları gibi faktörlerin etkili olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

The purpose of this study is to figure out factors that effective on students selections criteria about one of the elective courses, Environment and Education, offered in Ondokuz Mayis University. In this study, Nominal Group Technique (NGT) was used to collect data. Nominal Group Technique (NGT) is a focus-group research method that can be used in educational research to obtain information from a small group on a specific topic. NGT is a simple and rigorous educational research method, which can easily be used with staff and/or students. The study was designed to cover sequentially different stages of NGT. The results of this study shows that following factors were effective on students‘ decisions while selecting Environment and Education as an elective course: Technical problems in university‘s elective course selection program, students‘ interest are as, anxiety of passing or failing of course and instructors‘ personal qualities.
