Mental disorders and HLA antigens

HLA status was assessed in matched groups of patients with mental disorders, 26 with and 30 without psychotic characteristics. The antigen frequencies were also compared with that in a control sample. Frequencies of the HLA-A10 and A19 were found to be low in both patient groups. It was also found that a fewness of HLA-B35 in psychotics relative to population controls. No differences between the patient groups were present.
