The cancer from a statistical aspect
Abstract
The cancer describes group of illnesses that is characterized by unchecked development, abnormal cell proliferation and invasive characteristics. Nowadays, cancer is still the foremost disease state whose morbidity and mortality is high. Because of this particularity cancer statistics is very important from point of taking measures Because of there is not much reliable databases in our contry, cancer registratration and incidence project were initiated to collect by actively cancer data that was collected by passive methods previously. Just as, 32772 cases in 1995, 39806 in 1996, 33611 in 1998 and 25942 in 1999 were sent to chairmanship. In Turkey, there were not the enough and dependable data sources about the present situation of such an important health problem of cancer because of absence of entering systems and insufficiency of present entering systems untul 1983. But, after 1983, cancer cases in all cities were reported via Health Directorship to Health Ministry which required notification of cancer cases.
