Abstract

In the process of fibrous forage harvesting, an important requirement is the proper shredding, because it enters directly or indirectly the animal feed composition, whether it is about of fresh fibrous feed with a high degree of moisture or it is about of withered feed, in some cases even dried fodder. It is known that the energetic contribution to achieve of a cut differs within large limits, depending on many factors. For reducing the energy consumption during the shredding of fibrous fodder to minimum possible, we must know the mechanism of cutting process, which also ensures the harvesting equipment reliability.
